A slope in four seasons
A sunny bank becomes a legible sequence of paths, shrubs and changing seed heads.

The brief
The south-facing bank has exposed soil, fast surface runoff and no comfortable maintenance route. The concept begins with a topographic survey and separates planting design from any retaining or structural work.
The considered details
Contour-following steps and small stone landings organize access. Serviceberry, low sumac, little bluestem and asters create roots, shade and winter structure; an installer and qualified specialists would confirm slope stabilization and construction.
